You know it, you love it, now let's get some teams set up. First four teams to have full teams get first dibs.

In case you don't know what Blind Pyro is, you come up with a team of 5 people. 100 bucks to enter. At 3 o'clock on Friday, you get your stash of pyro. At 7 o'clock, you have to be ready to shoot and leave the field. Prizes are $300 to winning team, $100 to 2nd Place, 3rd and 4th place just get made fun of for years to come. Rules are minimal, and I will have to dig them up. But it is a lot of fun, for sure. Just ask anyone who has done it.

Smack talking makes it better also....

UPDATE:
Team 1: The CATO Kansans

I have been out of town, and I know a bunch of people are getting back from PGI and this is the next big thing on their pyro horizon, so updated first post.

Kids are out. We are taking it easy this year and doing nothing. I do plan on shooting a show at Thunder though

I too am out... life has been busy lately! That and KCAP is doing the closing so we will be all hands on deck for that!

I wouldn’t mind joining a team. Will be my first time at the event and I’m not a club member but thinking about joining. Let me know
See post 1, but essentially you should have a soundtrack and an idea of how you want to script it. I know it should go without saying, but you should have access to a firing system... other than that and the first post any other questions?

Mississippipyro, if you are joining a team, just a good attitude and willingness to help out to get the show in the air goes a long way. The leader of the team should have the music, firing system, etc. Go for it...you'll have fun and hopefully learn some things also. Metal was looking for more team members...perhaps shoot him a PM and see if there is room there.

We have room for one more person, if interested shoot me a pm. Or see me at Pyromania Friday, I should arrive around 11 am.

My wife and I will be there about noon on Friday. If someone is looking for one or two folks to fill out a team, we'd be glad to help out. The wife is as much of a pyro as me. Shoot me a PM!

Thanks!

LOL...with all the comings and goings, you'd think it was NFL draft day!!!!!

There are many people who don't come to this forum yet, so I am going to have a list on Thursday Night, and we'll try to get teams lined up and finalized. If you aren't coming until Friday, please find me when you arrive so we can get you added to a team/create some new teams. We'd like to have 4 teams compete. A few people are potential first time participants, which is awesome...you will really enjoy this, and to answer a few questions that I have received numerous PMs about:

You will have a pretty good amount of pyro to work with, usually around 5 cases or so of product, comprised of 500g, 200g, slices, single shots, a whole menagerie of stuff. The show needs to be under 5 minutes from when the first effect starts until the last effect/break. You have to use all the pyro...can't take just put in your $100 and walk away with some inexpensive fireworks. The last several years, the shows have all been pyromusicals. So have audio in mind/ready to have a better chance of winning. Your team needs to have a firing system to shoot the show. You need to provide your own e-matches/talons/ignitors...whatever you choose to use. I would guess 100 or so ematches??? Some prior competitors can chime in on that...I, to my dismay, have never been able to compete in this. If you are on the fence on this, I promise you that you will have fun doing this, so go for it...you just might win and take home some cash!

None of my team members can make it, I’m looking to join a team if anyone is still looking.
Wow, that's tough to hear so close to the event. Sorry man.
I've been involved in 2 blind pyro comps and loved it! Next up for me is to join in on a Pro-Am Comp someday.
