Where - Wolfe Farm at 10705 Allens Fresh Road, Charlotte Hall, MD
When - Friday April 24 & Saturday April 25
What - Demos, Open Shooting, Maffle, Pyro-musical Displays, Big Shells (including some big salutes, we like our noise here lol), and lots of food :)

Cost - Pre-registered event fees are $20/NLPC member and $40/non-NLPC member. Those failing to pre-register the fee will be $30/NLPC member and $50/non-NLPC member. We will get a thread going once we have pre-registration all setup and ready to go.

As usual, most of the details will be handled through Private Messaging here on the forum. We will get a "Who's Coming?" thread going up soon so folks can sign up there in order to get the messages we send out.

Things are still coming together, but a few things we do know for sure at the moment:

1) We will once again have our Backyard Battle 1.4g Consumer Fireworks competition displays. This was a huge hit with the crowd (and the pyros) last year so we are bringing it back once again. There will be four different manufacturers sponsoring displays and we will get a thread going with more details about this and asking who wants to participate as competitors.

2) As always, we will have individual/groups of shells being fired between the displays. We have someone who has already volunteered to head this up and we will get a thread open on that as well within this coming week. Folks can donate towards a shell, pick their own shell, buy a volley of shells, whatever if they would like to participate.

3) Right now, we have (3) 1.3g Pyro-musicals on the books. The Carolina Pyros are putting on a display, one of our contestants from last year's Backyard Battle is stepping up on the "big stage", and IPC will once again be putting on the closing show. If anyone else would like to do a display, please let me know asap. We have a limited window in order to get the shows done in and I just need to make sure I have plenty of time to get everyone on that schedule and things planned. Not trying to discourage anyone, MAFF has always been the place to learn/have fun/shoot a bad a$$ display so if anyone wants in, I'll get you in....I just would rather do it earlier than later.

4) Food....well, anyone who has ever been to MAFF knows we take care of you on this front. The same folks who have taken care of the food the last few years are back at the helm again so rest assured, no one should go hungry :)

That's about it for now, as I said, over the coming week(ish) be on the lookout for additional threads in this subforum with more and more details. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Sorry I haven't gotten the update PM out to everyone, but still putting together a list of vendors, fun things going on, etc. Hope to get it out this weekend, but thought I'd at least post up some quick info on the shows.

In addition to the (4) Backyard Battle competition shows (sponsors to be announced next week along with the participants) the show lineup consists of:

Matt Dubin doing a 1.4/1.3 display - Matt was one of the contestants in the Backyard Battle last year and his stepping up on the bigger stage this year. Super stoked to see what he has in store for us.

Carolina Pyros will once again be producing a display for MAFF. This group has shown in the past it has a passion for pyromusicals and no doubt will entertain us once again.

NEOPG is back! These guys have put on several displays in the past, never failing to rock the joint. I was super excited to hear they were coming back this spring (well, they have never left, always helping others with their shows, but back to product a show that is :)

Innovative Pyrotechnic Concepts will be producing the end of the night display. These guys do a decent job most of the time so I hope they can put together something that doesn't get embarrassed by the previous shows...going to be a tough job for sure given the quality of shows we are expecting.

Also, Mongoose Firing Systems will be coming out to show off their equipment, answer questions, etc. Be sure to stop by their booth and say "hi". IPC will also be incorporating some of their equipment in the end of the night show so folks can see their gear "in action".

I will also have a list of those companies which are putting on demos for Friday night shortly.

Anyone else getting excited :-)

if anyone needs help Friday night ill be around to lend a hand so if you know me then get me if not ask around for me and im sure someone will point you to me where ever i may be

Any plans to postpone or cancel due the virus?

Well, not at the moment. We really only have one shot at this as far as the spring goes so at the moment we are remaining "fluid" as is the rest of the country. We are still planning as if things will go on as normal as it is easier to say "sorry folks, Maryland will not issue the permit...." than it is to say "holy crap, they are going to let us, let's throw it together...." lol. I think we will know a lot more in a couple of weeks so we have another Executive Officer meeting on the 25th of this month at which point we hope to be able to have a better handle on things.

Has there been any plans on hotel reservations yet?
I’m only asking because when I booked the 2 hotels for us 2 or 3 years ago most rooms where booked by March due to some spring event in Waldorf.
I’m glad I had signed contracts for MAFF attendees then.
Just curious if we should book for ourselves?

I'll check on this as I'm not 100% sure where things are at with the hotel agreement, but a couple of years ago we did move towards working with the hotels across the bridge which had more availability. They also knocked off an extra $6/night to cover the cost of the bridge toll which folks would have to pay in order to stay in VA. I'll get back to everyone on this asap.
