If you suffer debilitating muscle cramps, you probably know that there is no one sure fire cure. Working in the heat seems to be the worst at causing cramps. And no-one knows exactly why they occur. There are many cures suggested, however, from mustard to vinegar to pickle juice to salt tablets and so on. If you have this problem, magnesium can be helpful as a preventive. Look for chelated oral magnesium, I use "Doctor's Best", and take 100 mg. four times daily. You can also apply magnesium topically. The topical products are available as liquids and foams. Magnesium "oil" is readily available and is actually not an oil, it just feels oily. It is a solution of water and magnesium sulfate, epsom salts. You can buy it or make your own. Theraworx is a foam product and VERY effective. Also try to stay a little over hydrated, this is VERY helpful. For foot cramp prevention, apply Theraworx, allow to dry, and then put on your footwear. You can also dampen your socks a little bit with magnesium "oil" and either don them damp or allow them to dry first. Neither magnesium nor anything else is a guaranteed cure/ preventative but you may find it helpful. All these products are available on Amazon if not locally available to you.
